Kharian (TDI): Pakistan Army hosted the eighth edition of the International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition at Kharian Garrison, drawing participation from local and international military teams.
The 60-hour-long, high-intensity military drill focused on patrolling in semi-mountainous terrain and was designed to boost combat skills, adaptability, and teamwork through a shared exchange of tactics and innovative techniques.
Seven teams from the Pakistan Army, a team from the Pakistan Navy, and fifteen teams from friendly nations took part in the competition.
The drill has evolved into a prestigious platform for military-to-military engagement and professional development.
Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir participated in the closing ceremony as the chief guest. He lauded the participants for their exceptional professionalism, resilience, and commitment shown throughout the exercise.

“The Pakistan Army is proud of its values of character, courage, and competence. These traits have been consistently demonstrated in our fight against terrorism,” General Munir said.
Held in the rugged hills of Punjab, the competition highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to promote regional military collaboration and boost operational preparedness in realistic conditions.
Earlier, the COAS on Thursday said that the peace and liberty enjoyed in the country today are the outcome of the sacrifices made by the armed forces.

The army chief made these remarks during an investiture ceremony organized at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
During the ceremony, General Asim Munir conferred military honors, including the Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat, on officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army.
