Uzbekistan, Pakistan to strengthen bilateral cooperation in multiple domains

Islamabad, 26 December 2022 (TDI): Khodjaev Jamshid Abdukhakimovich, the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, arrived in Pakistan this morning by special plane.

Syed Naveed Qamar, the Federal Minister for Commerce of Pakistan, met the Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister. He welcomed Khodjaev Jamshid Abdukhakimovich with a bouquet.

During the stay of the Deputy Prime Minister, the two sides will discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in a variety of areas. A number of bilateral agreements and Memorandums of Understanding are expected to be signed, as well.

The visit of the Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister to Pakistan is expected to provide renewed impetus to the two countries deepening cooperation in a variety of fields.

The Uzbek representatives will also meet with various state dignitaries, including the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif.

It is pertinent to note that the Deputy Prime Minister also holds the office of the Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan.

Khodjaev Jamshid Abdukhakimovich is leading the delegation which includes Mahkamov Ilkhom Rustamovich; Minister of Transport, and Oybek Arif Usmanov; Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan.

Kudratov Laziz Shavkatovich; First Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Siddikov Furqat Ahmedovich; First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Khaydarov Ilkhom Utkurovich, Chairman Association “Uztextileperom” are also part of the delegation.

Other in the contingent includes Bakhrom Yusupov; Trade & Economic Counselor to Pakistan, and Oybek Kambarov, from the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan and Pakistan are fraternal countries with deep historical, cultural, and religious ties characterized by mutual respect and exceptional cordiality. The two countries also share views on a variety of regional and international issues.
