Tehran (TDI): The United States and Israel have intensified their military operations against Iran, striking multiple targets including a bridge near Tehran, steel facilities, and a historic medical research center in the capital.
The escalation comes after US President Donald Trump issued strong warnings, suggesting Iran could face severe destruction if it does not move toward a negotiated settlement.
According to reports, Trump later claimed that a major bridge in Iran had been destroyed, sharing footage on social media that showed smoke rising from the B1 bridge in Karaj, located southwest of Tehran. He warned that further attacks could follow if the conflict continues, urging Iran to come to the negotiating table before suffering greater losses.
Iranian state media confirmed that the bridge had been targeted in repeated strikes, stating that an earlier attack resulted in civilian casualties. Emergency teams were reportedly deployed when the second strike occurred. The bridge itself was still under construction and was described by Iranian sources as one of the tallest in the region.

Earlier in the day, Iran responded with missile launches toward Israel, including Tel Aviv, prompting air defense systems to activate. Sirens sounded in several areas, and reports indicated that a number of people sustained minor injuries.
In Tehran, multiple explosions were reported, although the exact targets were not immediately clear. Separately, Iran’s steel industry has been significantly affected, with two major plants reportedly forced to halt operations due to sustained strikes. A century-old medical research facility, the Pasteur Institute of Iran, was also reported to have suffered extensive damage.
Regional tensions have also drawn international concern. Talks involving around 40 countries focused on the security of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route. Several nations called for its immediate and unconditional reopening to ensure the continued flow of international trade.

UK officials accused Iran of threatening global economic stability, while France suggested that securing the strait would only be feasible once the bombing campaign subsides. China, on the other hand, blamed the US and Israel for contributing to the crisis and described their actions as violations of international law.
