Pakistan has played an active mediating role in facilitating contacts between the two sides since helping broker a ceasefire earlier in the year, positioning itself as a key diplomatic channel in ongoing efforts to end the conflict.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier stated that a finalised text between the United States and Iran had been reached and that Islamabad was working closely with both parties to complete remaining procedural steps.
