Kyiv, 3 January 2024 (TDI): Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak on Tuesday. One of the topics discussed was the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense systems, according to the head of the Ukrainian state.
Zelenskyy said he had informed Sunak about the recent terrorist strikes on Ukraine by Russian forces. At least 500 missiles and drones have been launched by the invaders in the last five days.
Furthermore, Zelenskyy thanked Sunak for the UK’s “significant and comprehensive” contribution to the strength of Ukraine’s air defense.
“We noted the productive work on a bilateral agreement on security guarantees for Ukraine within the framework of the Vilnius Declaration of the G7 countries. We must finalize it as soon as possible,” Zelenskyy wrote.
They also aligned their opinions on the peace formula in advance of the Davos, Switzerland, meeting of the fourth group of advisers. Talks included working together on particular issues and getting ready for the presidents’ meeting on global peace, which according to the media reports, will take place in February 2024.

Moreover, in reaction to Russia’s missile assault on Ukraine on December 29, Rishi Sunak said that Vladimir Putin, the dictator in the Kremlin, is persistent in his efforts to eliminate democracy and freedom. With assurance, the prime minister of Britain said, “We will not let him win.”
Britain is one of Ukraine’s key allies since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. The country has provided our military with Challenger 2 tanks, long-range Storm Shadow missiles, self-propelled artillery units, air defense systems, and more.
In the wake of another large-scale strike by the Russians on December 29, Britain declared its plan to send hundreds of air defense missiles to Ukraine.
