Islamabad, 26 October 2022 (TDI): The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will lead a high-level team to China on November 1 to 2.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will also accompany him. The Prime Minister is traveling at the invitation of Li Keqiang, the Premier of the People’s Republic of China (CPC).

He will be making his first trip to China since taking office in April 2022. It comes after his meeting with President Xi Jinping on September 16, 2022, in Uzbekistan.

Following the momentous 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Prime Minister will be among the first world leaders to visit China.

The visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is a continuation of the frequent summit meetings between Pakistan and China.

While there, the Pakistani Prime Minister will also meet with President Xi Jinping along with speaking with Premier Li Keqiang at the delegation level.

The agenda of the visit is to review the All-Weather Strategic Cooperation Partnership between the two close allies as well as exchange opinions on local and international issues.

The signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and Agreements in a variety of fields is expected. Likewise, the visit is also anticipated to advance the broad bilateral cooperation agenda.

It is also expected that the official visit will potentially solidify the momentum of CPEC cooperation following the 11th meeting of the CPEC Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) on October 27, 2022.

Presently, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. While there, he also held a bilateral meeting with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, in Riyadh on Tuesday.

In addition to that, the Prime Minister of Pakistan attended the Future Investment Initiative Summit in Riyadh on Tuesday. The purpose of the summit was to discuss the challenges of the global economy.
