Lima, 10 September 2022 (TDI): The Foreign Ministry of Peru announced the marking of 30 years of diplomatic relations with Slovenia. The two countries commemorated stronger ties and friendly relations.

The announcement also pointed out the relations between Peru and Slovenia based on their cooperation on an international stage. The Peruvian foreign ministry also recognized the political dialogue between the two sides on multilateral and bilateral levels.

Moreover, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia also announced in an official statement that both countries had enjoyed 30 years of diplomatic relations.

It was added that both states developed constructive ties and their cooperation achieved a solid foundation for stronger relations in the future.

Milestone for deepening ties

The 30 years of Diplomatic Relations between the two states of Peru and Slovenia had set the milestone for deepening political ties. The diplomats of Slovenia are inclined towards strengthening ties with all the American states including Peru.


Slovenia is also looking forward to increasing relations with Peru through its Embassy in Argentina accredited to Peru. Moreover, it is also looking for sustaining strong relations with all the states of the Organization of American States (OAS).

Slovenia-OAS relations

Slovenia maintains diplomatic relations and bilateral trade with almost every state of the Organization of American States (OAS). Slovenia also collaborated with the OAS on gender equality, human rights, education, cultural exchange, and developing people-to-people ties.

Slovenia collaborated with the OAS’s Secretariat for Political Affairs. It also took part in the electoral and assistance mission with the OAS in the Presidential and Legislative elections in Haiti.

Slovenia also holds closer ties with the member states of the Organization of American States (OAS) while being the permanent observer in the General Assembly of OAS. The transatlantic cooperation of Slovenia is a major aspect of its relations with the OAS.
