Washington (TDI): Pakistan Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, on Monday held separate meetings with two prominent American lawmakers to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral relations between the two countries, according to a press release from the Pakistani Embassy.
Ambassador Sheikh met Congressman Tom Kean, a Republican from New Jersey, and discussed ways to bolster Pak-US ties.
The conversation emphasized regional security and expanding trade and investment links.
Highlighting shared values and mutual interests, Ambassador Sheikh stated these elements form the foundation of a strong and enduring partnership between the two nations.
Specific opportunities for collaboration with New Jersey, particularly in the pharmaceutical and IT sectors, were also explored during the discussion.
In a separate meeting with Congressman Kevin Kiley, a Republican from California and an emerging leader in the US Congress, the focus was on strengthening bilateral ties and promoting a shared vision for a prosperous future.
Both sides exchanged views on fostering partnerships in key sectors such as trade, investment, IT, and agriculture, with an eye toward leveraging California’s dynamic economy for mutual benefit.
