Pakistan Launches Major Cyber Attack, Hits BJP and Indian Power Grid

Islamabad (TDI): As part of the massive Operation Bunyan-ul-Marsoos, Pakistan has launched a sweeping cyber offensive targeting critical Indian digital infrastructure.

Numerous high-profile Indian websites have been compromised, including the official website of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), The Express Tribune reported citing securing sources.

The cyber-attack also targeted the Crime Research Investigation Agency, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited, Bharat Earth Movers Limited, and the All India Naval Technical Supervisory Staff Association, with their entire content reportedly trashed.

Moreover, major data breaches have been reported from institutions such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the Unique Identification Authority of India and the Border Security Force.

Leaked data also includes files from the Indian Air Force, Maharashtra Election Commission, and multiple other regional institutions.

More than 2,500 surveillance cameras across India have been reportedly hacked, seriously disrupting real-time monitoring and operational security across in different areas.

In a separate offensive, Pakistan’s cyber team reportedly targeted the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited, heavily destroying the state’s power infrastructure.

The breach caused widespread electricity outages, and all commercial and domestic meter records were wiped out, effectively paralyzing power services.

Security officials described the cyber operation a strategic digital front of Pakistan’s broader response, aimed at neutralizing both the technological and military capabilities of the enemy.
