Pakistan dispatches 5th tranche of Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

-

Islamabad, 5 February 2024(TDI): In response to the escalating crisis in Gaza, Pakistan dispatched its fifth tranche of humanitarian aid on February 4.

The relief items were transported via a Pakistan Air Force C-130 aircraft from Noor Khan Air Base in Rawalpindi.  The flight is expected to land in Al-Arish, Egypt.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the aid would be received by the Pakistani Ambassador for onward delivery to those in need.

However, this ongoing effort aligns with Pakistan’s dedication to addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of the people of Gaza.

Another flight, loaded with 100 tons of relief, is scheduled to depart from Karachi on February 6, 2024.

The ongoing Israeli air and ground assaults have resulted in a tragic death toll surpassing 27,000, with thousands more injured.

Furthermore, in a statement, the Gaza health ministry said, that a total of 27,365 Palestinians have been killed and 66,630 have been injured in Israeli strikes.

NDMA’s Efforts

Additionally, efforts are coordinated by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in collaboration with Al-Khidmat Foundation.

This executed the government’s directive to send assistance.

The relief package included winterized tents, tarpaulins, and blankets, symbolizing Pakistan’s commitment to solidarity and peace.

Since the initiation of Israel’s war on Gaza in October last year, the NDMA has dispatched a total of 230 tons of relief items.

This ongoing support underscores Pakistan’s commitment to addressing the humanitarian crisis.

However, more assistance is also planned.

Demonstrating Pakistan’s commitment to solidarity and seeking a peaceful resolution.

As Israel continued its campaign in response to Hamas activities, the NDMA expressed concern over the impact on civilians.

Pakistan, without diplomatic ties with Israel, has condemned the violence and called for an immediate ceasefire.

However, it echoed the global sentiment urging a halt to the devastating conflict.

Continuous Support from Pakistan

This recent effort follows the dispatch of the fourth batch on January 13, 2024, which contained 20 tons of essential relief goods.

The items included surgical and medical supplies, dry food, and hygiene kits.

Meanwhile, it highlights Pakistan’s sustained commitment to addressing the urgent needs of the people of Gaza.
