Islamabad (TDI): The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan, Atadjan Movlamov, welcomed Shaheryar Memon, the newly appointed Focal Person for Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Youth Program on Overseas Affairs, Business, and Trade Linkages.
The discussions took place at the Turkmen Embassy in Islamabad and covered a broad spectrum of bilateral issues aimed at deepening the cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
Ambassador Movlamov emphasized Turkmenistan’s foreign policy, which is firmly rooted in principles of neutrality and mutually beneficial collaboration.
He highlighted Turkmenistan’s commitment to peaceful regional integration and expressed optimism about expanding ties with Pakistan.
A key focus of the meeting was enhancing trade and economic relations. Ambassador Movlamov provided an update on Turkmenistan’s major energy projects, notably the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline and the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line.

These initiatives are regarded as vital for improving energy security in the region and fostering economic connectivity between Central and South Asia.
In addition to energy, the Ambassador introduced the groundbreaking development of Arkadag, an innovative and environmentally sustainable city in Turkmenistan designed to serve as a regional model of smart urban development.
The talks also covered cultural and educational cooperation, recognizing the importance of people-to-people exchanges in strengthening bilateral relations.
Both sides agreed that expanding partnerships in trade, energy, culture, and education presents new opportunities for sustainable and long-term collaboration.
The meeting underscored a mutual commitment to intensify cooperation in areas of strategic interest, reinforcing the historic ties and shared goals of Pakistan and Turkmenistan.
As both countries work towards enhancing economic and cultural links, this dialogue paves the way for greater regional stability and prosperity.
