Islamabad (TDI): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that new passport regulations are being introduced to curb beggary and illegal immigration, and that strict action was being taken against organized begging networks.
Naqvi received Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed Al-Malki at the Saudi Embassy on Sunday and discussed issues of mutual interest, including cooperation in economic, social, and security sectors.
Underlining Pakistan’s resolve to tackle transnational crimes, Naqvi stressed the country’s keen interest in working closely with Saudi Arabia to combat drug trafficking and human smuggling.
He highlighted the visa-free entry for Saudi nationals into Pakistan as a reflection of the strong relations between the two countries.
The Minister commended Saudi Arabia’s participation in the recent Pak-Gulf Cooperation Council Anti-Narcotics Conference.

He expressed gratitude to Kingdom and the envoy for their firm support to Pakistan, especially in the sectors of economic assistance and social development.
He expressed deep appreciation for the Saudi government’s pivotal role in securing the release and safe return of five Pakistani family members who had been wrongly implicated in a drug-related case.

Al-Malki reiterated Saudi Arabia’s deep-rooted relations with Pakistan and affirmed the Kingdom’s desire to further enhance cooperation across all sectors.
