Tehran, 3 August 2021 (TDI): The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei confirmed the mandate of Ebrahim Raisi as the next president of Iran.
Raisi is the fourth president elected who was confirmed by the supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei in return who was the last elected president of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This endorsement ceremony would be held by the high-ranking officials and other foreign dignitaries as well.
The Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli presented a report on the Presidential elections which were held on June 18 at the start of the inauguration ceremony in which Raisi remarkably won. Raisi and other government officials will deliver the speeches as well in this endorsement ceremony.
Raisi stated in his speech that the June 18 elections are a manifestation of religious democracy and said all people were involved in the June 18 elections and asked the new government for a change by their election and vote, which is inevitable.
The ceremony was held in strict observance of covid protocols and was aired on the Iranian national TV as well.
The nation is currently facing economic and health crises as well as tensions with the West. Raisi will also have to manage the negotiations aimed at reviving the nuclear deal in which the US unilaterally withdrew itself after imposing sanctions on Iran.
