Islamabad, 17 June 2023 (TDI): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that a tragic incident involving a capsized boat off the coast of Greece has affected many Pakistani nationals.
According to the latest information, twelve Pakistani citizens have been identified among the survivors, while the number and identities of Pakistani nationals among the deceased are yet to be verified.
The Pakistan Embassy in Greece has established constant communication channels with the local authorities, rescue teams, and relevant stakeholders to expedite the identification process and assist the survivors and their families.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Pakistan Embassy, is actively engaged in facilitating the provision of medical care, consular assistance, and support to the survivors.
Their consular staff is working tirelessly to ensure the welfare and repatriation of the survivors to Pakistan, where they can receive the necessary care and support from their families.

The Ministry stands in solidarity with the families of the affected individuals and extends its deepest condolences to those who have lost their loved ones.
It is also reaffirmed that the Government of Pakistan is fully committed to providing all necessary support and assistance.
Additionally, the Ministry has also provided the contact numbers of the concerned officials so that families of victims can communicate and ask for updates.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs appeals to the families of Pakistani citizens who may have been affected by this incident to come forward and provide any relevant information, especially DNA reports, to aid in the identification process and identify the deceased.
