Kuwait City, 1 January 2022 (TDI): Kuwaiti Emir sent written messages to his counterparts prior to the New Year. He wrote letters to Qatar and Bahrain expressing his deepest commitment to strengthen diplomatic ties.
Along these lines, the Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad sent the messages to Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s Foreign Minister. This is because he was in charge of delivering the letters to the King of Bahrain and the Emir of Qatar.
In this way, the written messages covered the deep-rooted relationship between them. As well as how to solidify them in different fields. The letters also explained the proximity of their states due to the historical relationships between their populations.
Kuwaiti-Qatari relations
As members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Kuwait and Qatar have a unique and harmonious relationship. That is why, for Qatar’s Unification Day, the Kuwaiti Ambassador to Qatar underscored the stance of both States to preserve the security and stability of the region.
Therefore, Kuwait and Qatar show solidarity among the GCC members. In addition to the mission of strengthening political and economic ties within the Arab world.
Furthermore, the Ambassador of Kuwait in Qatar highlighted the cooperation between them to implement the guidelines for continuous development. Along these lines, he told the Qatar News Agency (QNA), “Our relations are full of bright signs throughout our ancient and modern history.”
“The relations between Kuwait and Qatar are harmonious on an honorable path in relations at the Gulf, Arab and international level,” he added.
Kuwait-Bahrain relations
On the other hand, Bahrain is also part of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab League. That is why it also shares with Kuwait a common vision regarding the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Therefore, their relationship is based on a mutual commitment to the actions of the Arab world to address Islamic problems. Not to mention the enthusiasm of Kuwait and Bahrain to safeguard the values of tolerance and restraint in the face of extremism and terrorism.
In this line, they accept with responsibility the promotion of peace and the settlement of regional and international conflicts. In fact, Kuwait is an advocate to follow former leader steps regarding humanitarian assistance alongside Bahrain.
Finally, with the establishment of the High Joint Cooperation Committee, Kuwait and Bahrain agreed on diplomatic, consular, tourism, among others, memoranda of understanding and executive programs.
In other words, the leaders of Kuwait and Bahrain seek to ensure unity within the countries. They want to achieve complementarity and coordination between them. As the President of Kuwait, Al Ghanim said during his visit to Bahrain,
“the rulers of Kuwait and Bahrain are one family.”
