Oslo, 6 June 2023 (TDI): Today, Ministry of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar met with Norway’s Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt in Oslo.

In this meeting, they appreciated 75 years of Pakistan-Norway relations and agreed to the enhancement of the bill. In addition, they decided to cooperate in multiple spheres. They talked about the importance of multilateralism in addressing regional and global challenges. 

Appreciation of 75 years of relations between Pakistan and Norway

There is an established mechanism of Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) between the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and Norway. These consultations are held alternatively in Islamabad and Norway.

The bilateral diplomatic relations between Norway and Pakistan are good. There have been frequent consultations and exchanges of visits between the two countries.

Therefore, Hina Rabbani Khar, in a recent meeting, appreciated 75 years of relations between Pakistan and Norway.

Cooperation in multiple spheres

In a recent meeting, Hina Rabbani Khar and the Foreign Minister of Norway Anniken Houitfeldt decided to enhance bilateral cooperation in multiple spheres, especially in higher education, green energy, shipping, and the blue economy in Oslo today. 

Focus toward multilateralism (to counter regional and global issues)

Today, Hina Rabbani Khar, in her meeting with Norway’s Foreign Minister, also agreed on the importance of multilateralism to fight regional and global issues, including Indian illegally Occupying Jammu and Kashmir and another issue as well.

This was indeed a successful meeting between the two ministers.  The visits of Hina Rabbani Khar to foreign countries would show the world a positive image.

This meeting will help to strengthen relations between the two states. It would help them to boost their bilateral relations and to cooperate in different fields like education, green energy, shipping, etc.
