Islamabad, 28 July 2022 (TDI): Delegation of Global Business Alliance and Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry met with Simon Fasterkjaer, Chargé d’Affaires of the Royal Danish Embassy to enhance bilateral business relations between Pakistan and Denmark.
During the meeting the delegation explained about the Global Business Alliance while comprehensive introduction of Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry was made.
Speaking on the occasion Simon Fasterkjaer said that Pakistan and Denmark enjoy deep and closer relations. Denmark supports Pakistan in European markets and there are several Dennis Companies doing business in Pakistan.
There are around 52 Danish companies with business interests in Pakistan. The Dennis Investment Fund (DIF) has also invested in various projects in Pakistan.
GBA and GCCI discussed various possibilities of collaborating with their counterparts in Denmark.
Pakistan Denmark Trade Relations
Economic relations between Pakistan and Denmark have been steadily improving in recent years. At the first and second rounds of Pakistan-Denmark Bilateral Political Consultations held on 2 March 2018 and 25 November 2020 respectively, it was agreed to make economic relations a priority area for cooperation between the two countries.
Pakistan’s exports to Denmark have registered a positive trajectory for many years. Imports from Denmark have on the other hand declined. Pakistan is a beneficiary of the GSP Plus status of the European Union which allows for tariff-free imports into the EU from Pakistan, which makes Pakistani products highly competitive in Denmark.
