Czechia Heading Into FIFA World Cup With Made-in-Pakistan Football

Islamabad (TDI): Czechia has officially qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and will compete in Group A against Mexico, South Africa and the Republic of Korea.

The Czech Embassy in Pakistan shared the exciting news on Wednesday, highlighting the team’s upcoming participation in the global tournament.

“Czechia is heading to the 2026 World Cup!!! Now entering Group A to face Mexico, South Africa and Korea Republic,” the embassy’s public post on social media platform X said.

The embassy expressed excitement about handing the Czech national team an official FIFA World Cup ball crafted in Sialkot, Pakistan, and wished for the ball to end up in “opponents’ nets as often as possible.”

Czechia’s placement in Group A marks a significant return to the tournament after missing recent editions. The group features strong teams from three continents, promising intense competition and high-level football for the Czech squad.

The official match ball for the 2026 World Cup is manufactured in Sialkot, Pakistan, a city known globally for its high-quality sports equipment production. Pakistan has supplied FIFA World Cup balls for decades, demonstrating the country’s expertise in the football industry.

This connection between the Czech team and the Pakistan-crafted ball underscores the strong people-to-people and economic ties between the two nations through sports diplomacy.

The announcement comes as global excitement builds for the largest-ever FIFA World Cup with 48 teams. Czechia’s qualification and the presentation of the Sialkot-made ball highlight the role of sports in fostering international friendship and cooperation.

Pakistan continues to play a key role in global football manufacturing, supplying equipment for major tournaments and strengthening its image as a reliable partner in international sports events.

The Czech Embassy’s post has drawn positive attention in Pakistan, encouraging youth and sports enthusiasts to celebrate this shared milestone between the two countries.
