Consular Camp for Pakistani-American Community in Michigan.

Michigan, 14 September 2021 (TDI): Under the initiative of ‘Consulate in your Town’ Pakistan’s Consulate General Tariq Karim led an official team to Michigan to set up a Consular Camp for the Pakistani-American Community.

The initiative ‘Consulate in your Town’ by Consulate General Tariq Karim received a profound response from the Pakistan-American Community. A number of applicants showed up at the camp for their document validation and other consular services. The community also expressed their gratitude to the Consulate’s team for setting up the camp that saved their trip to Chicago.

During his visit, Consular General Tariq Karim also interacted with the Pakistani-American community. He outlined his priorities as Consulate General that include fast and quality services to the community, engaging the community to bridge the gap between Pakistan and the USA, outreaching and promoting beneficial partnerships, and pursuance of economic diplomacy to promote trade, investment, tourism, and flow of remittances.

Consulate General also highlighted the policies undertaken by the Pakistani government to facilitate its diaspora. Appreciating the role played by the Pakistani community in the socio-economic development of both countries, Tariq Karim assured the community of the Consulate’s full support.

Additionally, during his stay Consular General Tariq Karim participated in various community events at Michigan. Participating at one of these events, in a seminar on ‘Quran in light of Iqbal’, Consular General Tariq Karim paid a heartwarming tribute to the national poet of Pakistan Allama Iqbal stating that his poetry, vision, and political insight set the path of a separate homeland for Muslims of sub-continent.
