Stockholm, 24 November 2021 (TDI): Sweden will host World Environment Day 2022. Sweden’s Ministry of Environment will organize the event in partnership with the UN Environment Program (UNEP).

The upcoming year 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the Stockholm Conference held in 1972. It was the first Conference on Human Environment by the UN that resulted in the creation of UNEP and World Environment Day, on June 5th every year.

Central Theme of the World Environment Day 2022

According to UNEP, the theme of 2022’s Environment Day will be “Only One Earth”. The Stockholm Conference held in 1972 also had the same theme.
