Chinese PLA Air Force celebrates 72nd Anniversary

Beijing, 11 November 2021 (TDI): The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force is celebrating its 72nd anniversary, today. The Air Force is responsible for defending air frontiers. They carry out strategic and tactical bombing missions to support land and naval forces.

PLA Air Force 

The PLA Air Force was established on November 11, 1949. It became popular by joining the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea. China’s Air Force is one of the best in the world with cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art fighter jets.

Strategic Air Force

Last year, the Air force attained a major milestone of crossing the threshold of a strategic Air Force. Many noteworthy developments took place like the pronouncement of numerous advanced warplanes.

H-6K bomber

Recently, the  PLA Air Force released a video showing an H-6K bomber presenting the island of Taiwan from over 10,000 meters in the air, and rivers and mountains.

The PLA Air Force routinely carries out patrols and missions to depict operational preparedness and combat readiness.  Aircraft like J-16 fighter jets are part of alert and surveillance missions.

Combat Patrols

The Air Force regularly conducts combat patrols in the South China Sea, alert patrols in the East China Sea, deployments in the West Pacific, and encirclement patrols around Taiwan Island. The PLA Air Force plays a significant role to safeguard national sovereignty, development interests, and territorial integrity.

2021 Airshow China

China announced the commissioning of the J-16D electronic warfare aircraft and WZ-7 high-altitude reconnaissance drone during the 2021 Airshow China. Additionally, the production capacity for an advanced stealth fighter jet, the J-20 was also increased.

Y-20  during COVID-19

Furthermore, at the start of the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020, the PLA Air force’s large transport aircraft Y-20 participated in its first military operation other than war. It delivered medical supplies and personnel to the location where they were most needed.

J-16D and WZ-7

The J-16D is an electronic warfare aircraft. It has recently entered combat training. It conducts operations with the J-20 stealth fighter jet. Whereas, the WZ-7 is a high-altitude reconnaissance drone. The drone has been deployed for full combat training.
