Beijing (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar’s visit to China reflects Pakistan Government’s importance attached to developing China-Pakistan ties, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said on Monday.
China and Pakistan are all weather strategic cooperative partners. The two nations maintain close, high-level exchange and collaboration,” she said during her regular media briefing while commenting on Dar’s 3-day official visit to China.
The spokesperson stated that Beijing stands ready to work with Islamabad to further deliver on the significance of understandings between the leaders, boost strategic communication and strengthen exchange and collaboration so as to advance the bilateral ties and accelerate the building of a closer China-Pakistan community with shared future in the new era.
On Pakistan-China tensions, she said that China has stated its position several time and added, Beijing will continue to maintain communication with both countries and play a constructive role for comprehensive, enduring ceasefire between the two sides, and maintaining regional peace and stability.

In response to a query, Mao Ning said that India and Pakistan are both China’s important neighbors. China attaches great significance to China-India and China-Pakistan ties.
She said that Beijing is committed to the philosophy and principle of good neighborliness with neighboring nations.

Since the strains in India-Pakistan ties, China has adopted an objective and fair position and urge both nations to exercise restraint and calm and prevent further escalation of situation.
China welcomes and supports the truce between the two nations and is prepared to play a constructive role of realizing enduring and comprehensive ceasefire between the two nations and maintaining regional peace and stability, the spokesperson added.
