Wuhan (TDI): The opening ceremony of the Pakistan Agricultural Thousand Talents Program – Seed Production and Processing Technology Training Course was held at Huazhong Agricultural University (HZAU) in Wuhan, Hubei Province, marking another milestone in China-Pakistan agricultural collaboration.
The training initiative, jointly organized by HZAU and Wuhan Qingfa-Hesheng Seed Co., Ltd., has brought together 54 Pakistani participants from various agricultural institutions and research bodies.
Speaking at the ceremony, Shafqat Abbas, Deputy Secretary of Pakistan’s Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFSR), said the program reflects the growing depth of agricultural cooperation between Pakistan and China.
He emphasized that the seed industry remains a top priority for Islamabad and expressed hope that this hands-on training would help strengthen human resource development and technical expertise in the sector.

In her remarks, Zhu Xiaobo, General Manager of Qingfa Hesheng, highlighted the company’s two decades of collaboration with Pakistan and its achievements in promoting agricultural innovation and technology exchange between the two countries.
She said the training course would combine classroom sessions, field visits, and practical demonstrations, enabling Pakistani trainees to gain a deeper understanding of modern seed production, processing techniques, and agricultural research advancements.

So far, under the broader Training Program for 1,000 Agricultural Talents in China, jointly implemented by MNFSR and Chinese institutions, around 700 Pakistani professionals have already completed various training modules in China.
