China-Pakistan development cooperation video conference

Beijing, 25 August 2023 (TDI): A significant China-Pakistan development cooperation video conference was co-chaired by Deng Boqing, Deputy Director of the China International Development Cooperation Agency, and Kazim Niaz, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Pakistan.

The conference included the participation of relevant departments and representatives from both countries embassies and consulates on August 23.

Highlighting the enduring strength of the China-Pakistan relationship, Deng emphasized their status as all-weather strategic cooperative partners.

Regardless of shifts in the international landscape, China and Pakistan remain committed to a relationship founded on sincere cooperation, mutual trust, and shared destinies.

Under the guidance of the leaders of both nations, the China International Development Cooperation Agency and Pakistan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs have cultivated close communication and coordination, yielding fruitful outcomes in the realm of development cooperation.

Deng reiterated China’s readiness to collaboratively construct the high-quality “Belt and Road (BRI),” champion global development initiatives, enhance practical cooperation across diverse sectors, and actively contribute to fostering a more interconnected China-Pakistan community of shared future.

Kazim Niaz, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Pakistan, expressed deep appreciation for the exceptional friendship between China and Pakistan.

He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to robust communication and collaboration with China, fostering mutual development and the creation of a high-quality China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. This corridor aims to usher in a new era of prosperity, enriching the lives of citizens from both nations.

During the conference, both sides delved into comprehensive discussions regarding crucial matters such as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, social welfare initiatives, and post-disaster reconstruction projects.

A meticulous review of project progress was undertaken, further clarifying the immediate priorities for upcoming phases of cooperation.
