China-Pakistan body emphasizes Vocational Training Institute

Islamabad, 18 December 2021 (TDI): China-Pakistan body talked about the recently developed Vocational Training Institute.

Pak-China Relations Steering Committee (PCRSC) discussed the progress of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in its fourth meeting. It also talked about the Vocational Training Institute established in Gwadar. The CPEC Power Division secretary highlighted that an initial built 132 KV Line will provide electricity from the national grid to Gwadar. He also pointed out that 300 solar panels will also be established to meet the energy needs of Pakistan.

Pakistan-China Technical and Vocational Institute established at Gwadar was also discussed. It is recently completed. It will provide technical and vocational training. Gwadar will become a trading hub in the coming years. According to the stats, Gwadar will create about 1.2 million jobs. Therefore the youth can get huge benefits in the future by getting technical education.

80% of the population of Gwadar city works in fishing-related fields. It will teach advanced fishing techniques. The institute will provide modern technical education to the youth of Gwadar and Baluchistan. The vocational institute will start functioning from February 2022. 400 deserving students will get a chance to study in the first batch of the training institute.

Pakistan-China Technical and Vocational Institute Project Director Sohail Asghar stated that in the three years course, students will spend 1.5 years in Shandong Institute of Commercial Technology in China. The students will then get practical experience during their internship in course-related industries.

China Overseas Port Holding Company Chairman Zhang Boazhong pointed out that the locals of the Gwadar are the main stakeholders of the development in Gwadar. He emphasized that the locals will get the most benefit from the development under the  CPEC. He stressed that the long-term development of the Gwadar city depends on the participation and management of the locals.

China has been helping the economic and social development of Pakistan. China has created hundreds of thousands of employment opportunities under the CPEC project. The Vocational and Training institute expresses the Chinese commitment to help Pakistan in its development.
