Beijing, 11 November 2021 (TDI): China expressed severe displeasure on the visit of US lawmakers to Taiwan. The statement was made by the spokesperson for China’s Ministry of National Defense, Tan Kefei, to convey China’s disapproval.

US Delegation visits Taiwan
A US delegation arrived in Taiwan earlier this week, endangering regional peace. China considers the visit as an act of provocation. Chinese official Tan Kefei stated that the US has been meddling in China’s internal affairs, which is not acceptable. Taiwan is an indisputable part of China and such acts undermine its territorial sovereignty.
Statement of Chinese Defense Ministry
On behalf of his country, Tan Kefei warned the US to cease such provocative actions. Such incitement can only lead to destruction and escalation of tension in the region. The visit challenges the one-China policy as well imperils regional peace. He underscored that the US must not encourage secessionism in Taiwan and refrain from interfering in China’s internal affairs.
China will Defend its Territorial Integrity
Tan Kefei enunciated that such a secessionist agenda will only bring disaster. No one should undermine the staunch determination, powerful capability, and strong resolve of China to defend its territorial integrity and national sovereignty. He added that the People’s Liberation Army is on high alert and will take every necessary action to stop any outside meddling and separatism.
