Yemen celebrates Revolution Day

Aden, 14 October 2021 (TDI): The Prime Minister of Yemen, Dr. Moeen Abdul-Malik congratulated Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi and his fellow countrymen. The occasion was the celebration of the 58th anniversary of the October 14 Revolution.

In the history of Yemen, 14th October has great significance. This year, Yemenis are celebrating their 58th anniversary. September 26th and October 14th, both are commemorated as Revolution Day. 26th September is celebrated in reminiscence of Northern Yemen’s revolution against the Mutawakkilite Kingdom. Whereas 14th October is celebrated to memorialize the South’s revolution against the British Empire. The Mutawakkilite Kingdom was a state that existed between 1918 and 1962 in the northwestern part of what is now Yemen.

The Yemeni Prime Minister underscored that the Houthi militia cannot defeat the indomitable will of the Yemenis. They will continue to reject the violence and hostility. He further affirmed that his government is committed to ensuring the well-being of the citizens against the Houthi militia’s aggression.
