Casablanca (TDI): Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that China is committed to continuing its cooperation with Morocco to firmly support each other on core national interests, while advancing the development of their strategic partnership.
Xi made the remarks during a meeting with Moroccan Crown Prince Moulay Hassan in Casablanca, following his state visit to Brazil.
The Moroccan Crown Prince, representing King Mohammed VI, along with Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch, warmly greeted Xi at the airport, where a welcome ceremony was held.
Xi extended his best wishes to King Mohammed VI, highlighting the solid progress in bilateral relations between China and Morocco, marked by fruitful cooperation and vibrant exchanges.

He recalled the productive talks during King Mohammed VI’s state visit to China in 2016, which brought the bilateral ties to new heights.
The Chinese president reiterated China’s readiness to work with Morocco on implementing the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum. He emphasized strengthening practical cooperation, particularly under the Belt and Road Initiative.
Xi expressed China’s support for Morocco’s efforts in maintaining national security and stability and called for increased cultural and people-to-people exchanges to bolster public backing for the China-Morocco friendship.

Crown Prince Moulay Hassan, conveying King Mohammed VI’s warm greetings to Xi, expressed gratitude for China’s support during the COVID-19 pandemic, a gesture that the Moroccan people will always remember.
He reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to deepening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including high-level exchanges.
Hassan also noted the growing popularity of Chinese language and culture in Morocco and underscored the mutual support for safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and stability.
