World Leaders Set to Meet in Antalya for Fifth Diplomacy Forum

Antalya (TDI): World leaders, diplomats, and policy experts are set to gather in Türkiye’s Mediterranean resort city of Antalya from April 17 to 19 for the fifth edition of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF), a key international platform aimed at addressing rising global uncertainties and geopolitical tensions.

Held under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and organized by Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry, this year’s forum will take place under the theme “Mapping Tomorrow, Managing Uncertainties,” reflecting growing concerns over shifting power dynamics, trade barriers, and challenges to multilateral cooperation.

The annual forum has rapidly evolved into a prominent venue for global dialogue since its inception in 2021, bringing together heads of state, foreign ministers, international organization representatives, academics, and civil society actors.

Previous editions have attracted thousands of participants from over 140 countries, underscoring Türkiye’s increasing role as a diplomatic convener.

This year’s gathering is expected to continue that trend, with leaders and decision-makers convening to discuss a wide array of pressing issues, including regional conflicts, economic instability, climate challenges, and the future of global governance.

The forum is designed not only for formal panel discussions but also for behind-the-scenes diplomacy, offering opportunities for bilateral meetings and informal negotiations.

Past editions of the forum facilitated rare high-level talks, including meetings between Russian and Ukrainian officials during heightened tensions, highlighting the forum’s potential as a platform for dialogue even amid conflict.

Türkiye has positioned the Antalya Diplomacy Forum as part of its broader effort to play a balancing and mediating role in international affairs.

The event reflects Ankara’s ambition to strengthen its global diplomatic footprint while fostering dialogue between diverse actors in an increasingly fragmented world.

The 2026 edition comes at a time of heightened global uncertainty, with ongoing geopolitical rivalries, economic pressures, and evolving security threats testing traditional diplomatic mechanisms.

Against this backdrop, the forum aims to explore innovative approaches to diplomacy and encourage cooperation across regions and sectors, especially in the context of the US, Israel and Iran crisis.
