Lahore, 23 March 2022 (TDI): A Guard Mounting and Wreath Laying Ceremony were held at the Mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, in Lahore on Pakistan Day.
The Chief Guest on the occasion was Air Vice-Marshal Zubair Hassan Khan, Air Officer Commanding, PAF Airmen Academy, Korangi Creek. Moreover, a contingent of the Pakistan Air Force took over guard duties from the Satluj Rangers.

Air Vice-Marshal Zubair Hassan Khan laid a floral wreath along with offering Fateha at the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal on the behalf of Chief of the Air Staff, Airmen, as well as Civilian employees of Pakistan Air Force.
Pakistan Day was celebrated at all the Bases and installations of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) with traditional zeal and fervor. The daylong festivities commenced with special prayers after Fajar for the progress, solidarity, as well as prosperity of Pakistan and the Islamic World.
Pakistan Day is a national holiday and is celebrated annually on March 23rd. The day commemorates the ‘Lahore Resolution’ of 1940, which ultimately led to the creation of Pakistan.

On March 23rd, 1940, the Lahore Resolution was unanimously passed which disavowed the notion of a United India along with proposing the establishment of an independent state for Muslims.
Pakistan Day is celebrated with an early morning parade in Islamabad as well as gun salutes in Islamabad and provincial capitals. The national flag of Pakistan is hoisted on all government buildings and departments.
Both the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan are present at the occasion. The President of Pakistan delivers an address on the occasion. Later he confers national awards and medals at the Presidency.
