United Nations (TDI): More than 400 Palestinians have been killed and over 500 wounded in Israel’s most-intense wave of airstrikes since the ceasefire was adopted on January 19.
Israel’s aggression has angered the world and condemnations are coming from across the globe.
Many countries expressed shock and concern during the UN Security Council’s briefing on the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said he was “shocked” by Israel’s actions and that he urges for the ceasefire to be respected and for humanitarian assistance to be allowed in so it can reach the people of Gaza.
Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Munir Akram said “The first tactic to erode the ceasefire agreement was the imposition of the humanitarian blockade, an attempt to extort concessions beyond the ceasefire agreement of 15th of January.”

“And now, they have escalated to blatantly violate the ceasefire and resume attacks against the helpless Palestinians in Gaza who were just returning to rebuild their homes. 400, mostly men, mostly women and children were killed just last night,” he added.
Egypt, who is a mediator alongside Qatar and the US, referred to Israel’s airstrikes as a “blatant violation” of the ceasefire.
Its Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the strikes represent a “dangerous escalation” that poses a serious threat to the region’s stability.
Qatar, the principal mediator between Israel and Hamas, strongly condemned the attacks, with its Ministry of Foreign Affairs issuing a statement warning that Israel’s “escalating policies will eventually ignite the region and jeopardize its security and stability.”
A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia expressed “strongest condemnation and denunciation” of the Israeli occupation forces’ resumption of aggression and their direct bombardment of areas inhabited by unarmed civilians.
