Tashkent (TDI): Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov held a phone conversation focused on strengthening bilateral ties and discussing regional developments, according to Uzbekistan’s presidential press service.
During the call, President Mirziyoyev congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2027–2028 term.
He described the achievement as a sign of growing international recognition of Kyrgyzstan’s active foreign policy and its role in promoting regional peace and stability.
Both leaders reiterated their commitment to close coordination and continued cooperation within international organizations and multilateral platforms.

They also expressed satisfaction with the current state of relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, highlighting strong friendship, good-neighborly ties, and an expanding strategic partnership.
The discussion covered progress in implementing agreements from earlier high-level meetings, particularly in areas such as trade and economic cooperation, transport links, energy projects, and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
