US Secretary of State to travel to Pittsburgh for the US-EU Council Ministerial

Washington, 27 September 2021 (TDI): Ned Price, Spokesperson of the US State’s Secretary, announced that the Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, will travel to Pittsburgh on September 29  to serve as co-chair of the inaugural US-EU Trade and Technology Council Ministerial.

The Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo, and the US Trade Representative, Katherine Tai, will also co-chair. The European Commission Executive Vice Presidents Margrethe Vestager and Valdis Dombrovski will be co-chairs as well.

The Representatives will meet to advance shared democratic values, expand and deepen transatlantic trade, investment ties with a desire to set rules towards the 21st-century economy.

The meeting will last for two days. According to Price, on September 30, parties will visit Argo, AI, which is an autonomous driving company. Afterward, Blinken will attend to national commitments, to visit the Vaccine Center Research of the University of Pittsburgh.

Price mentioned that the US reaffirmed its commitment to work with its allies & partners to ensure trade and technology policies deliver for US citizens.
