US-ROK-Japan commitments to enhance trilateral cooperation

Tokyo, 26 October 2022 (TDI): The Deputy Secretary of State of the United States (US), Wendy R. Sherman met with the state officials of Japan and the Republic of Korea.

On her official visit to Japan, Deputy Sherman met with Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa, as well as Japanese Vice Foreign Minister Mori Takeo.

She also met the Republic of Korea’s (ROK) First Vice Foreign Minister Cho Hyundong. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss trilateral cooperation.

Deputy Secretary during her visit also met with the US embassy staff in Japan and appreciated their services to the American people in the country.’

Wendy Sherman, Foreign Minister Hayashi, Vice Foreign Minister Mori, and First Vice Foreign Minister Cho shared concerns over the policies of North Korea in the wake of recent missile launch incidents.

The officials also expressed their concerns regarding Russian aggression in Ukraine. Deputy Secretary appreciated Japan and the Republic of Korea’s support for Ukraine.

The officials also discussed ways to enhance trilateral cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

They reaffirmed their commitment to boost cooperation among them across a range of issues.

US-ROK-Japan Alliance
