Quetta, 24 November 2022 (TDI): United States (US) Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome met with Chief Minister Baluchistan, Abdul Quddus Bizenjo.
The Ambassador on his visit to Quetta, Baluchistan also met with the local partners that work to advance climate change adaptation.
He was also present at the “Entrepowered—Women Can Do” launch event, a program to empower women entrepreneurs in Baluchistan through seed funding.
Moreover, Ambassador Blome met with the representatives of higher education institutions, local NGOs (Non-governmental organizations), and Afghan refugees.
He appreciated the efforts of local partners and youth activists in raising climate awareness and forming climate change adaptation by leading an urban forest project.
In this regard, he participated in a community tree-planting drive, that will become a more significant part of the project. During his visit, the Ambassador also discussed US Green Alliance with diverse partners in Pakistan.

He highlighted the US and Pakistan’s cooperation in climate change. He also underlined the bilateral approach to economic development through higher education and women empowerment.
Remarks by Donald Blome
US Ambassador, at the event, highlighted the support of the US to Pakistan and mentioned the provision of $97 million dollars in flood assistance, including the support provided to individuals and communities in Baluchistan.
He underlined the Green Alliance between both states, “We know that the effects of the flooding are far from over, and every nation faces the threat of climate change.
So, we’re working with diverse partners to increase Pakistan’s resilience to climate change through a Green Alliance.”
Ambassador Blome also mentioned the importance of economic development through women’s empowerment and higher education.
In this regard, he underscored the scholarships that have been provided to students by USAID (US Agency for International Development).
He remarked on the launch event of Entrepowered, “The United States believes that empowering women is a strategic investment in the future for both private citizens and the global economy.
By working together on projects like Entrepowered, we can advance women’s equality in the business sector and unleash a vast potential that will help bring prosperity to Quetta and Baluchistan.”
US and Pakistan together can promote a peaceful and secure future for their nations through cooperation, he stated.
