Tripoli, 17 September 2021 (TDI): UNICEF Libya thanked the government of Italy for vaccine donation to Libya. Libya received 117,600 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines from through COVAX/GAVI facility. These donations will help the people of Libya to defeat the pandemic.
Giuseppe Buccino, the Italian Ambassador to Libya, along with Abdulkadir Musse, UNICEF Special Representative, and government counterparts, welcomed the arrival of vaccines at Mitiga Airport in Tripoli.This support is in line with the longstanding and successful cooperation between the government of Italy and UNICEF in the medical field, UNICEF Libya tweeted.
