Islamabad (TDI): Florence Rolle, Food and Agriculture Organistaion (FAO) Representative in Pakistan, has been honoured with the prestigious Global Ambassador Award 2024 in recognition of her outstanding efforts in natural resource management in Pakistan.
The Diplomatic Insight, a global public diplomacy institution in Pakistan, awarded the FAO Representative with the 6th Global Ambassador Award for her significant contributions to sustainable agriculture, environmental resilience, and women’s empowerment.
The 6th Global Ambassador Awards Ceremony 2024 took place in Islamabad, with the presence of Ambassadors, diplomatic corps, Parliamentarians, government officials, business leaders, academics, media, and civil society members.
Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Dr. Farhat Asif, Chairperson of the Diplomatic Insight Group, welcomed distinguished guests and underscored the organization’s commitment to promoting global collaboration and diplomacy.
Florence Rolle has served as the FAO Representative in Pakistan since August 2021, bringing extensive expertise in natural resource management with a Master’s degree from the University of London and degrees in Agricultural and Civil Engineering from France.

Beginning her FAO career in 1998, Florence held key positions in Rome, Addis Ababa, Washington, D.C., Malawi, and Morocco before arriving in Pakistan.
In Pakistan, Florence spearheaded the Living Indus Initiative, a UN-recognized restoration flagship project that promotes sustainable water management and ecosystem preservation.
She has advanced private sector investment by aligning FAO’s Hand-in-Hand Initiative with Pakistan’s Vision 2025, leading to a landmark investment forum in 2023.
Her policy contributions include the Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture Policy, the Water Resources Management Bill, and Balochistan’s Integrated Water Resources Management Policy.

Florence’s leadership during Pakistan’s 2022 floods preserved essential livestock and provided support for over one million people.
She also launched the Clean Indus Campaign, promoting water conservation through community engagement.
A strong advocate for women’s empowerment, she has increased women’s participation in agriculture, notably through Farmer Field Schools and women-led SMEs.
