Warsaw (TDI): In a grim warning to its nationals abroad, Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk has urged all Polish citizens in Iran to leave the country immediately, citing what he called a “very real” risk of armed conflict that can erupt at any moment.
Poland’s government has not provided details on how many Polish citizens are currently in Iran. The Foreign Ministry is expected to issue further guidance.
“Please leave Iran immediately and under no circumstances travel to this country,” Tusk told reporters, warning that evacuation could soon become impossible, possibly within hours.
Speaking near Warsaw, Tusk said he did not want to “alarm anyone,” but said that the security situation had deteriorated rapidly. “In a few, a dozen, or several dozen hours, evacuation may no longer be possible,” he cautioned.
Tusk referenced past warnings that were not heeded, with “serious consequences,” a likely nod to previous regional crises when delayed departures made evacuations difficult or dangerous. The escalation in tension between Iran and the United States led to the Polish government’s urgent advisory.

Multiple sources report that US military assets have been significantly increased around the region, including naval and air capabilities, as talks with Tehran over its nuclear program have failed to produce a breakthrough. Iran has warned it will retaliate against US military facilities if attacked.
Poland’s warning comes as tensions rise around the world of a potential war between Iran and the US. Reports indicate the United States is preparing for a possible campaign against Iran should negotiations collapse.
While Tusk’s advisory focuses on the safety of Polish citizens, it also reflects broader NATO and EU concerns about how rapidly the situation can turn into an open conflict, further damaging the already delicate regional stability.
When connected to the wider dynamics in the Middle East, the Polish warning highlights how the intensifying confrontation between Tehran and Washington has global repercussions beyond direct US-Iran relations.
