Riyadh, 11 January 2022 (TDI): The Camel Festival is currently taking place from December 1 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The festival, better known as the King Abdul-Aziz Camel Festival, is an international event organized by royal patronage.

Purpose of the event

The Camel Festival is an annual cultural, economic, sports and entertainment festival in Saudi Arabia. Its importance lies in its objective of consolidating its heritage within the Arab and Islamic cultures.

Camel Festival Details

Currently, the royal house is hosting the event from December 1st to January 12th. The Kingdom invites all camel owners from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf to attend the event. In addition to external diplomatic personnel such as USA, France, and Spain ambassadors who joined the festival in past or current edition.

In addition, the Kingdom will receive more than 33,000 camels in an area of ​​32 square kilometers. Not to mention the 19 categories of six-colored camels that the organization made available for aspiring owners. The latter will win a total of SR 250,000 if they reach the top prize.

Besides, the Camel Festival provides 5,000 jobs and is open to more than 100,000 visitors, every day. Apart from that, it is essential to note that women can participate for the first time in history.

On the other hand, the main objective of the King Abdul-Aziz Festival is to show the heritage of camels. For this reason, and especially the Camel Beauty Contest highlights the role and tradition of the camel in the Kingdom.
