Doha (TDI): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to meet Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and senior officials today as part of his two-day official visit to Qatar, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office Pakistan, PM Shehbaz will also meet Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, who will host an Iftar dinner in honor of the Pakistani delegation.
The Foreign Office Pakistan stated that discussions with Emir Sheikh Tamim will cover the entire spectrum of relations, including political engagement, economic collaboration, energy partnership, and people-to-people exchanges.
The two sides are also expected to explore new avenues of cooperation in trade, investment, energy, infrastructure development, and manpower export.
PM Shehbaz is additionally set to meet Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who also serves as Minister of State for Defense Affairs, and Ahmad bin Mohammed Al-Sayed. A delegation from the Qatar Businessmen Association will also call on the prime minister during his stay.

Upon arrival at Hamad International Airport on Monday night, PM Shehbaz was received by Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Pakistan’s ambassador to Qatar Muhammad Aamer, and other senior officials.
The Pakistani delegation accompanying PM Shehbaz includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and aide Tariq Fatemi.
The visit is expected to reinforce Pakistan’s strategic partnership with Qatar, highlighting both nations’ commitment to regional stability and prosperity. By engaging directly with Qatar’s leadership, Pakistan aims to explore mutually beneficial projects and strengthen existing channels of economic, energy, and cultural cooperation.

In addition to formal talks, the prime minister’s visit will include engagements with business leaders, enabling the private sector to identify new investment and trade opportunities.
