Ulaanbaatar, 22 October 2021 (TDI): A Russian delegation is on a working visit to Mongolia. The visit aims to mark the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russian Federation and Mongolia.
The delegation is led by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation A.L. Overchuk. Earlier this week, the Deputy Speaker of Mongolian Parliament met with his Russian counterpart.
The Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia, S. Amarsaikhan received his Russian counterpart at State House.
Russia and Mongolia enjoy close economic ties. Consequently, they hold regular meetings of the Inter-governmental Commission.
The two sides are keen to expand the bilateral ties under the ambit of economic cooperation and trade. Various joint projects were discussed during the engagement.
From Bogdkhan Railway Bypass Line project, modernization of the central railway corridor, expansion of Thermal Power Plant-III to the gas pipeline project, and up-gradation of infrastructure.
During the meeting, the Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the strong ties between the two countries.
He appreciated Russia’s help in the country’s economic sector, specifically the Mongolia-Russia-China Economic Corridor Program.
