Rohingya People observe Rohingya Genocide Remembrance Day

Cox’s Bazar, 25 August 2021 (TDI): Rohingya Muslims in the Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, and other countries as well are observing the 4th anniversary of the Rohingyan Genocide with silent prayers.

25th August commemorates the brutal genocide and forceful exsertion of Rohingya people from Myanmar to Bangladesh. On 25 August 2017, Rohingyas, which Myanmar Buddhists consider illegal Muslim migrants, were forced to leave their houses and subjected to mass brutal killings. There were around 750 000 refugees who migrated to  Bangladesh following the Genocide. According to United Nations Rohingyas have faced the world’s greatest genocidal violence and Human rights abuse.

Today around 1 Million Rohingyan refugees are living in Bangladesh.
