Representative MFA China met Afghan Ambassador

Beijing, 9 August 2021 (TDI): The External Security Commissioner of the Foreign Ministry of China Cheng Guoping met the Afghan ambassador to China Javid Ahmad Qaem. Cheng Guoping was invited by the Afghan ambassador for a meetup.

During the meeting, the Afghan ambassador and MFA representative discussed the bilateral relations between both the states, along with the prevailing situation in Afghanistan, and also underlined the need for cooperation between the two states in the fields of security and counter-terrorism.

Guoping for his part mentioned that China and Afghanistan are two close neighbors and that China looks forward to enhancing diplomatic ties and cooperation with Afghanistan in fields of security and counterterrorism.

Afghan ambassador agreed with Guoping remarks on the deep friendship between the two nations and mentioned that Afghanistan is thankful for China’s long-term substantial support to Afghanistan. He further added that Afghanistan will support China in seeking its interest and efforts in ensuring regional peace and stability. Afghanistan will fully collaborate with China in its agenda of combatting terrorism and ETIM added Qaem.
