Islamabad (TDI): Human Welfare and Development Organization (HW&DO) and the Raza Foundation have announced strategic welfare initiatives all across Pakistan and specifically in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
On April 8, both organizations held an Extraordinary General Meeting at Ornate Hotel, Melody Islamabad, which was attended by the representatives of both organizations.
In addition, policymakers, civil society leaders, and development professionals were also present in the meeting.
“A new chapter of hope begins – HW&DO and Raza Foundation join hands to empower communities, uplift the underprivileged, and build a stronger, more self-reliant Pakistan through sustainable development,” the representatives commented on the occasion.
The meeting focused on launching several transformative welfare projects in Pakistan, with a strong emphasis on Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
It was presided over by Pir Dr. Ali Raza Bukhari, who is a renowned religious scholar, a permanent representative of PCSW&HR at the United Nations, founder of Raza Foundation UK, and a former Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was also attended by the Executive Director of HW&DO & RF, Ashiq Ahmed Khan, the CEO of HCRSP & Advisor HW&DO, Syed Aftab Hussain Shah, and the Directors of HW&DO, Ms. Farhat Parveen, Dr. Badar Munir, and Allama Hassan Raza.
The participants agreed on the collective mission to uplift the vulnerable communities across the country. They also planned to initiate a phased development strategy, starting from Muzaffarabad Division, then expanding to Poonch Division and beyond.

The participants of the meeting approved a new project proposal that would focus key areas including financial assistance, food security, and environmental sustainability through eco-friendly practices in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Significance of collaboration with the donors and government bodies was also highlighted during the meeting. Special discussions were held regarding proposals submitted to TVO and OGDCL to secure funding and technical assistance.
HW&DO and its partners reiterated their dedication to scaling programs in education, healthcare, skills training, and livelihood enhancement throughout underserved regions of Pakistan.
While concluding the meeting, representatives of the organizations issued a unified message, “We are united to build up our country through community empowerment, sustainable development, and strategic partnerships.”
