Moscow, 24 December 2021 (TDI): Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, wished Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, on his 60th birthday over the telephone, today.

Vladimir Putin also reasserted the willingness to emphasize Russia’s and Azerbaijan relations by strengthening the strategic partnership.

Vladimir Putin’s warm message to Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan:

“You enjoy well-deserved authority among your fellow citizens and in the international arena as a wise and experienced statesman who can take carefully weighed and far-sighted decisions even in complicated situations. Under your leadership, Azerbaijan has achieved widely recognised success in the economic, social, and other spheres”.

Putin expressed his desires to have constructive and substantive dialogue with Azerbaijan to strengthen regional peace and prosperity through close cooperation in terms of strategic partnership between two states.

Russia-Azerbaijan: Relations

Since independence, Azerbaijan preserves silent diplomacy, independent and domestic foreign policy toward Russia. Azerbaijan considers the tremendous relations with Russia as good for prosperity and development of the country.

Russia is the largest trade partner of Azerbaijan for a long period. Russia allowed millions of Azerbaijanis to work and live in their country. Hence, Russia plays a major role in stabilizing and prosperity of Azerbaijan.

Russia mainly exports electronic equipment, iron, steel, fertilizer, vehicles, oils, aluminium, glass, organic products, copper, floating structure, cotton, live animals, musical instruments, raw hides, antiques, silk and others to Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan exports to Russia

Azerbaijan mainly exports tomatoes, fruits, nuts, footwear, wood, printed books, railway equipment, optical, medical apparatus, aquatics invertebrates, beverages, nuclear reactor, machinery, and others to Russia.
