Annual Summit of SCO’s Council of Heads of State
The annual summit includes the meeting of the Council of Heads of State (CHS). The Prime Minister will attend the SCO-CHS at the invitation of Uzbekistan’s President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who will preside over the conference.
The summit would be attended by the leaders of Members and Observer States, as well as the heads of SCO organizations and other special guests.
The CHS is the SCO’s highest venue for discussing as well as defining the Organization’s strategy, prospects, and priorities.
At the upcoming CHS, SCO leaders will discuss critical global and regional concerns such as climate change, food security, energy security, and sustainable supply chains.
They would also endorse agreements and documents that would guide the future course of SCO cooperation. On the margins of the CHS, the Prime Minister would undertake bilateral discussions with other participating leaders in addition to attending the summit.
Shanghai Cooperation Organization
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is a prominent trans-regional organization that spans South and Central Asia.
The SCO, founded in 2001, embraces the values and concepts inherent in the Shanghai Spirit, which include mutual trust, reciprocal benefit, as well as the pursuit of common progress.
The SCO member states collectively account for roughly half of the world’s population and a quarter of global economic production.
The SCO’s mission of supporting peace and stability and seeking stronger links in the economic, commercial, and cultural realms is consistent with Pakistan’s vision of enhancing economic connectivity as well as regional peace and stability.
Likewise, Pakistan has been actively contributing to the advancement of the Organization’s basic objectives via involvement in different SCO procedures ever since becoming a full member in 2017.
