President Putin congratulated 3 Russian Gold Medalists at Tokyo Paralympics

Moscow, 27 August 2021 (TDI): Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the Russian athletes who have won the gold medals in the ongoing Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Alexander Kuzyukov won a gold medal in the men’s épée individual event, Andrei Kalinawon received gold in the men’s 100m breaststroke event, and cyclist Mikhail Asatashov won gold in the individual pursuit event in the Summer Paralympic Games. President Putin praised the determination and spirit of the athletes and conveyed warm wishes and congratulations.  He stated that the gold medals are the depiction of champions’ hard work, dedication, and skills. Earlier this week, in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics Games, swimmers Roman Zhdanov, Anastasia Gontar, and Valeria Shabalina won gold medals for Russia too.

Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games commenced on 24 August and will continue till 5 September 2021. Russia sent a total of 241 athletes – 129 men and 112 women to compete with global athletes in the Paralympic games.
