Islamabad, Aug 6 (TDI): Meeting with the Norwegian Outgoing Ambassador Kjell-Gunnar Eriksen at the Aiwan-e-Sadr Pakistan, President Alvi stated that a huge potential existed between both countries. The President commended the efforts of the Norwegian and Pakistani Governments on our growing trade relations as a result of the presence of numerous Norwegian companies in Pakistan.
President Alvi stressed that Norway is a strong partner in fields of investment, trade, and development, and hence cultural relations should be enhanced. He said that the friendly environment of Pakistan has led to the development of Nizam Energy and Norwegian Scatec Solar to build solar plants like the one in Sukkur. These efforts are a way to attract more investment from other Norwegian companies. He thanked the Norwegian government for restoring and conserving historical heritage in Lahore.
The President also highlighted the atrocities committed by India in IIOJ&K and called upon the support of the International Community in this regard. He congratulated Kjell-Gunnar Eriksen on the completion of his tenure as the ambassador and highlighted that during his ambassadorship, he promoted relations in all fields between Pakistan and Norway.
