President Alvi pays tribute on Pakistan Defense Day

Pakistan- Defense Day 06 September 1965

Islamabad, 6 September 2021 (TDI): The President of Pakistan, Dr. Arif Alvi, pays tribute to the martyrs of Defense Day- 6th September. He reiterated the services of the Pakistan Army, Navy, and Air Force and praised their bravery in defending the motherland.

He recalled that fifty-six years ago, the armed forces of Pakistan with the Pakistani nation standing along with them defeated the enemy. With utmost bravery and courage, and sabotaged their evil designs against Pakistan.

The President also made mention of the hybrid war which the enemies of Pakistan are waging against it by applying all the clandestine means. He expressed his confidence that the armed forces of Pakistan will remain steadfast. They will continue their relentless efforts against such covert tactics of the enemies.

Furthermore, he assured that Pakistan would always support the right of self-determination of the Kashmiri people of the Indian occupied Kashmir. They acknowledged its role as a peacemaker. He also urged the international community to play its part in the promotion of peace in the region.

The Indo-Pakistan war was fought on 6th September 1965. India attacked Pakistan from Lahore and Kasur fronts without any initial intimation of the war. The Pakistan army and air force with their unparalleled bravery turned the tide of the war and inflicted unprecedented defeat on the enemy. The defeat was so heavy that India sought a ceasefire in the United Nations.

Alvi saluted the heroes who sacrificed their lives in defending the motherland-Pakistan.
