Portuguese Ambassador calls on Secretary BOI Pakistan

Islamabad, 13 August 2021 (TDI): Ambassador of Portugal to Pakistan, His Excellency Paulo Neves Pocinho met with Ms. Fareena Mazhar, Secretary of the Pakistan Board of Investment. The discussion focused on improving bilateral economic relations between the two countries.

Secretary BOI Ms. Fareena Mazhar presented the Portuguese Ambassador with 22 Special Economic Zones, which are very lucrative and can bring profits to foreign investors from imports of machinery and factories and encourage further foreign investment.

Ms. Fareena Mazhar urged Ambassador Paulo Neves Pocinho to introduce these Special Economic Zones to Portuguese investors so that they could take advantage of this cost-effective opportunity. Some of the highly profitable Special Economic Zones presented to the Portuguese ambassador are the Allama Iqbal Economic Zone, the Rashakai Economic Zone, and the Dhabeji Economic Zone.

At the end of the discussion, the Portuguese Ambassador expressed great interest and expressed the possibility that the two countries would set up a joint venture to strengthen relations.
